Easy-to-install
No changes are required to the Producer. Producer is a client that generates real-time data such as PLC, RTU, VFD atc. Just connect it to the iCex gateway.

The iCex communicates with the Producer using standard protocols like: Modbus, Modbus TCP\IP, GE SNPX etc. It is possible to connect several Producers to one iCex.

The data Producers can be distributed to large areas, even worldwide, and can be connected by various methods.

The iCex uses a standard Internet connection to access the RealiteQ system. No special network setup is needed to connect a Producer to the system, no "holes" are required to be opened in firewalls, and no VPN/APN setup is required.

The iCex Internet connection can by done either by GSM-GPRS, CDMA or other cellular modem or cable or WiFi standard Internet connection.

Easy-to-configure
The iCex is easy to configure, requires only three uniquely defined parameters: the project URL, the user name and the password. When the iCex is successfully connected to RealiteQ it receives all other relevant settings.

Always online and quick response
The iCex is polling the Producer according to the node's sample rate and immediately updates RealiteQ on any data state changes. The iCex maintains a continuous, quiet (minimum traffic) connection to RealiteQ that allows the iCex to be notified which nodes are being subscribed to and to get a write-command at all times.

Efficient and reliable communication
The iCex is expected to perform a 'first update' for each newly tracked node and then continues to update RealiteQ whenever a value changes and fits the threshold rules.

RealiteQ updates Consumers with the latest Producer's data. The communication of the Producer is not affected by the number of Consumers.
Each communication message contains an ID number. The message source will keep sending the message until it receives acknowledgment that the message reaches the target.
Each node-update contains: stamp time, quality, value and type.

Standard Protocol
All RealiteQ clients (Producers, Consumers) use standard Internet connection and all communications with RealiteQ done in HTTP protocol. The use of standard connection and HTTP protocol ensures "Firewall friendly", smooth data transfer through all the internet "obstacles" and enables the distribution of installations at various locations over multiple communication routes.

Security
Clients (Producers, Consumers) should login by supplying user-name and password done with HTTPs.
The clients are fully protected from unauthorized access since there is no TCP socket open for incoming connection. The client initiates and maintains communication and can control only from RealiteQ .

AVDT (Advanced Vertical Data Transfer)
RealiteQ facilitates easy data transferring between Producers.

Alarm handling
RealiteQ provides interactive alarm summaries through its Viewer, web and WAP interfaces, enabling users to access real-time and historical alarm information from any web browser or even from a mobile phone. Users can view current alarms, acknowledge alarms, and review all variables related to an alarm in an easy to use interface. RealiteQ can send email or SMS messages when an alarm is activated.

Continuous Historian
RealiteQ provides historical data "out of the box" without any configuration effort. By checking "write to history" all value changes are logged to history. Historical reports can be supplied in a variety of textual and graphic formats.

Various types of Consumers
A RealiteQ Consumer is a client that displays real-time and historical data. A consumer needs simple standard Internet connection and should login using SSL protocol before starting to use data.
A Consumer can be:

Web Browser - Any Web Browser on a computer, PDA or smart cellular phone can display RealiteQ variables-state in HTML pages.

WAP- Even WAP browser that runs on simple cellular phone can display RealiteQ variables- state.

RealiView - A portable and compact full-featured HMI. RealiView can be used to quickly prototype an HMI with hundreds of tags, large numbers of operator graphic displays, alarms, trends and data logging displays. Reali-View software and applications can be saved and run from a Disk-on-Key. All that is required is to insert the Disk-on-Key into a computer that has Internet connection and double-click on the RealiView icon.

ROPC - Reali OPC - An OPC server and client to connect any third party HMI to RealiteQ.

RealiCon - An ActiveX COM object that exposes the functionality of RealiteQ systems to other pieces of software. Among the many clients of automation objects are: Excel, Visual basic etc.

API - RealiteQ has an open, fully documented API base on HTTP protocol for integration base on third-party software.
